GCL Marlins drop the first game in the Championship

The Gulf Coast League Marlins have made it to the Championship where they are facing the GCL Yankees in a best of three competition to see who will be crowned the Champion of the GCL.

The GCL Marlins won the eastern division and made it through the first round of playoffs to land themselves in the Championship series. In case you are wondering what the heck the GCL is, it is a rookie league that plays 60 games from mid-June to late August.

The first game of Championship was held, yesterday, on the back fields of the Jupiter complex and the GCL Marlins didn't fair too well. They lost 12-3 and really were never in the contest. But the series isn't over. They will play again today at noon on some back field in Tampa at the Yankees complex. With a little luck, they will be victorious and bring the deciding game back to Jupiter.

We will let you how it goes.
