The Marlins are closing out the nine-game road trip by playing three against the Mets in New York.
Javier Vazquez is on the mound for the Marlins. In Vazquez's last start he went 7 innings, allowing 6 hits and 1 run. The lone run came via the home run. This will be only his second start against the Mets and let's just say the first one didn't go all that well. But Javy has been fairly solid lately with 7 of his last 8 starts being of the "quality" variety.
Mike Pelfrey toes the rubber for the Mets. Pelfrey is coming off a 7 hit, 2 run complete game. If history is any indicator he normally isn't as sharp the next time out after pitching a complete game. He throws a fastball (92 mph), slider, curve and splitter. His best results come when he is able to spot his fastball. Also, he pitches much better at home than on the road.
The Marlins starting lineup:
Boni, 3B
Infante, 2B
Gaby, 1B
Ramirez, SS
LoMo, LF
Stanton, RF
Petersen, CF
Buck, C
Vazquez, P
It's good to see that Petersen is getting another start, this really should happen more often. It probably won't, but it should.
Ichthyomancy is trying to get ready.
Best of Luck to You!
