Hi Marlins fans. I'm visiting Miami next month (vs. Mets) for the first time, to catch a few games at the old park, and I'd like to ask a couple of quick questions to those of you who live in the Miami metro area, or have decent knowledge of it. I tried combing through older fan posts to see if there have been any previous travel threads, but it also doesn't help that the park's changed names pretty much every year, so apologies in advance if this is redundant, and I'm more than grateful if there are any previous threads that you guys can direct me towards.
Is there a team store in Sun Life? The reason I ask is that parks that serve as football places (RFK, Metrodome) typically never really had any good team stores, and I collect merchandise from ALL teams, regardless of if they're division rivals or not, and typically believe there's no place like the team store to get the best selection. Google Maps says there's one auspicious looking official team store outside of Little Havana (Marlins en Miami), but the photos look kind of old, so I'm curious to know if it's still there today, and/or if there are any other stores that are well stocked with Fish team merch that I should know about.
This one's a shot in the dark, but I figure, why not. Cuban food, I love it. This trip isn't so much about the baseball and seeing Joe Robbie Shark Life, as much as it is more or less going on a Cuban food binge. I know there's lots of it, and it's everywhere, but if there's any particular places or food buses I need to keep my eyes out on, I'm all ears.
Anyone have any idea if the concert series is going to cause any problems for getting tickets? Not to poke too much fun, but I'm not the least bit concerned about acquiring tickets to a game, but one of the games I'm going to supposedly is part of the Saturday concert series. Is this going create any unexpected difficulty in getting tickets?
Thanks in advance for any help, and I look forward to visiting Miami.
