Mike Stanton hitting off a tee

Mike Stanton has begun baseball activities, somewhat .

Running still is a ways off. But Mike Stanton is getting back into the swing of hitting.

On Friday, the Marlins right fielder took 25 swings off the tee in the batting cages at Roger Dean Stadium.

"I felt fine," the 21-year-old said.

At least he is doing something, other than getting treatment on his quad. It is very possible he won't get in the usual 65 PA before the season starts, but that shouldn't be a big deal. If everything goes to form, he may end up close to that. And if he doesn't, so he will be a little slow out of the gate. He will catch up quickly.
