Ricky Nolasco is good to go

Ricky Nolasco is finally going to join in on the spring training fun.

From Joe Capozzi:

As expected, Ricky Nolasco will make his first Grapefruit League start on Sunday at Roger Dean Stadium against the Nationals.

Nolasco got the official green light after throwing a successful session of live batting practice this morning.

---

"He was spinning the ball. That’s why we want him 100 percent because that thumb is a huge part of his abililty to pitch."

Nolasco will be limited to three innings or 55 pitches on Sunday.

Ricky is an essential part of whether the Marlins will be successful in 2011 or not. If he has command over the number of mirage breaking balls he throws the team will be in good shape. This is assuming he can command them in the first half of the season the way he does in the second half. If he does, the Fish will be looking good.
