According to mlbtraderumors.com, the Marlins have contacted Jose Reyes and will meet with him sometime soon. The Marlins will also host Center Fielder Yoenis Cespedes in a private work out as soon as he is declared a free agent.
If the offer for Reyes is in the range of 5-6 years at around 12-14 million per year, I would love to have him in Miami playing SS with Hanley moving to third.
Also, Cespedes looks like a solid player with more potential than any other Cuban player. He is young (26) and would likely come at an affordable price during his prime (somewhere in the range of what Aroldis Chapman got with the Reds). I think this would be a great move.
Just giving you all an update on some Marlins free agent news.
