A more active community
Fishstripes should have a more active community. Maybe I'm just spoiled, but over at ThePhinsider, the SBN Dolphins blog, there are maybe 1 or 2 FrontPage posts, 3 or 4 Fan posts, and several Fan Shots a day. That is an active community. Since I joined this community a few years back, this community has never been very active, in the form of commenting or news or anything. Since the new crew has taken over, it has become a bit more active, but still not ideal. They have done a good job getting info out, and sort of changing the ways of the blog. But for any blog to be active there has to be a quantity of people that are entering their views, good or bad, on the current state of the team. Those are my thoughts, and I hope that we at FishStripes can form a more active community.

I'm sorry if there are any mistakes
I had to publish and re-publish, make a new fanpost, and it took me about 15 minutes after writing it because it said my word count was 0. Also, I can’t go back to a specific place in the writing to edit. Maybe I just answered my own question, and that’s why there aren’t more fanposts lol.
A more active community is great, but...
I value quality over quantity. Am I glad that there are more posts than before? Yes, but I’m not looking for so many that I get overwhelmed and fall way behind. Being in the Navy, I get busy, so I can only get on so often and it’s great that I get so much to think about without getting behind. I think we’re about right here.
Miami Marlins? Don't know if I'm ready. Seems like saying goodbye to an old friend.
Well first off, thank you for defending this country
I have the utmost respect for people like you.
Second, I value quality too. I don’t think that everyone should just ramble together a 5 minute post. However(and I hope nobody will take this the wrong way ; it isn’t meant as an insult to anyone) it’s not like the few fanposts and fanshots we have are filled with quality either. At this point, we have limited quality and quantity.
Actually, having re-read the past few posts, I take back that statement.
Again, I don’t mean to insult anyone
There's a few things you have to factor in
1) It’s the offseason for the Marlins, and as exciting an offseason as it will be, nothing has happened just yet, so expecting a lot of activity is expecting too much this early.
2) It’s the Marlins. We’re already inherently a small community.
3) The new Fish Stripes crew has just started. A lot of readers are getting used to the new style the writers have here, which is quite different than what was run by Craig in the past. The additional posting on the front page has helped, I believe, but it’s still a transition period at the moment.
That being said, I would love a more active community. I’m always listening to what the readers would like to see around here. Tell me what you guys want to see, and the crew here will try and to get something going.
We’re here for you guys. And the mad blogging cash. But mostly you guys (trust me, it’s you guys).

Haha
You guys have done a great job IMO. And I know about all of your points, I just think it’d be fun to have an active community when every time you look back on the site, there is news and comments, etc.
I would love it to
and I’d be happy to do whatever I can to build that community. Tell me what you guys want, and we can try.

Thank you for the kind words...
Makes what I do worthwhile. No offense to Craig, but I believe both quality and quantity have gone up since Michael and crew took over. I believe he raises valid points as far as being active in the off season. In fact, I think now is the perfect time for them to take over, because of the slower pace. Think of it this way, do you take a guy that has been surviving on a few sandwiches a day and suddenly start shoving 7 course meals down his throat? Not saying I wouldn’t be up for more but give me a chance to build up and get used to it. Again, no disrespect to Craig, I’m sure he was a busy man and only had one helper.

This site has already become mre active then it has in the past.
I usually dont post too often. I’ll often be around for game threads with Ladyfish and others as company. there are others like me, and we’ve always been a small, but no less passionate community.

Why not?
I don’t know why you don’t post, maybe it’s because you are busy or something, and if it is, ok that would make sense. But If not, and this is a message to not only you but anyone who doesn’t post often, then you should. Surely everyone forms some kind of opinion about something when they read it. So why not post that opinion? It’s fun to have a friendly argument with someone and support your opinion.
its been something of an up and down thing
I do like the direction this blog is taking, and I’ll probably become more active somewhat. we’ll see. Its gonna be a bit weird for people who have been here for years with all the changes at first.
