The Marlins have signed RHP Shawn Hill to a Minor League contract, with an invitation to Spring Training.

Right-hander Shawn Hill, who made four starts with the Blue Jays, has signed a Minor League contract with an invitation to Spring Training. If Hill, 29, makes the team, he will earn $600,000.

Since his Big League debut with the Expos in '04, Shawn has made 44 Major League starts, going 9-18 with an ERA of 4.74.

He made only 4 starts for the Blue Jays last year, going 1-2 with an ERA of 2.61 in 20 2/3 innings. Hill spent the majority of his 2010 season in the Minors, where he posted a 1.61 ERA in 11 starts.

Fun Fact: (Well, OK, only fun if you're not him) Hill has undergone Tommy John surgery twice in his career, once in 2005 and again in June of 2009.
