Amezaga Signs With The Rockies
In Favorite Former Fish news, Alfredo Amezaga has just signed a minor league contract with Colorado.
The Rockies announced that they signed Alfredo Amezaga to a minor league contract and invited him to Spring Training.
Amezaga, 33, barely played in 2009 and missed the 2010 season after undergoing microfracture knee surgery. He appeared in 125 games at four positions for the 2008 Marlins, hitting .264/.312/.367. He has big league experience at every position but pitcher and catcher.
FishStripes has a very soft, squishy spot in its heart for The Amazing One, and regardless of where he hangs his cape, we will always consider him a Florida Marlin (that is, as long as he saves his miraculous moves for games not played against the Fish).
So, any chance the Rockies would be interested in an Amezaga-for-Bonifacio deal? By our extensive analysis of the stats, the Marlins mid-game dugout dancing would improve by 7,000% with Alfredo back on the bench.

It doesn't make any real sense
but how awesome would it be if Amezaga & John McDonald were our middle infield? I wish i could find his “greatest hits,” he’s like 5’10 but plays like a very poor man’s ozzie smith

We're kinda glad he's back...
Even though his ‘05 stint was so short, it’s a bit of a return engagement.
Go Bruce!
