It wasn't a pretty game. The Marlins took an early lead but surrendered it in the fifth when Chris Volstad threw a couple of gopher balls and the Phillies manufactured another run to score three runs to take the lead. The Marlins would battle back to tie the game but couldn't take the lead due to some pretty crappy situational hitting by some. That would be as close as they got since the bullpen did what it does best, blowup, and took a late inning loss.
The Marlins will try to gain a split of the series tomorrow. Hopefully BGA will find a way to go deep and keep the pen out of the game for awhile. And maybe, just maybe, should the situations arise, the Fish will figure out how to score a runner on third with less than two outs.
Because if they can, it will bring smiles to Fish fans everywhere to watch the Phillies walk off the field despondent. I, for one, always like it when they look that way.
