2010 - Joe Blanton 6-6 23 23 0 0 0 0 142.1 175 90 83 22 33 101 5.25 1.46

The Marlins will be looking to secure the series split tonight.

Chris Volstad takes the hill for the Marlins.  This will be Volstad's first start since the brawl.  One thing that kinda gets lost in that start is that, Volstad didn't pitch all that well in the game.  The Marlins really need him to go semi-deep in tonight's game.  The bullpen needs the rest.  If he can keep the ball down and find the zone, he should be fine.

Joe Blanton is on the mound for the Phillies.  Blanton is coming off his shortest outing of the season, going only 4.1 innings against the Rockies in his last start.  For the most part, Blanton has pitched well this season and like most pitchers he does best work at home.  This will be Blanton's first start of the year against the Marlins.

Ichthyomancy has been reminded once again why holidays are more fun than work.

Best of Luck to You!

Star-divide

Boni starting at third...

Not a fan of that. He’s been fine in the outfield and at second, but let’s please not give me visions of last season, please.

But he is not made out of rubber. He needs to be careful.

What an interesting game. Some games are boring regardless of whether you are winning or loosing

This has been the opposite. A very exciting game.

If Hanley Ramirez messes this next at bat...I will flush his autographed rookie card down the toilette

Do or die time Hanley!

I hate Veras, I hate Nunez...can we trade the bullpen for two sacks of fertilizer?

I really don't get why you'd hate Veras

Five earned runs allowed in 33.1 innings since the end of June is about as good as a bullpen pitcher can do. And while Leo’s been erratic, he’s not bad (and is cheap to boot). Jorge Sosa is a much better target for your ire.

Bonifacio's looking surprisingly decent this year.

Granted, it’s not a huge sample size, but still.

Unless, of course, it takes playing time away from Ryan Anderson.

It's like someone taught him how to play finally

If the performance remains consistent, he and Murphy would make a pretty good tandem of utility men off of the bench.

Eh... it's not like he's doing anything remarkably different.

He’s just doing better at pitch recognition, is all. That’s a normal thing for a young guy to improve on.

(Now, if only we can get Maybin to do the same…)

Unless, of course, it takes playing time away from Ryan Anderson.

but at least it was entertaining to watch.
