After a nifty little three-game home stand, the Marlins find themselves in NYC.  I just hope someone told the young guys to take the seven train to the stadium or we might be missing a few when the game starts.

Josh Johnson takes the hill for the Marlins.  JJ looked good in his last start, which is promising.  The concern is he normally pitches better at home and than on the road.  And this year, Taxpayer Stadium has been no different.  He has made one start this season at the Mets home and frankly, it was one to forget.  But hopefully everything will be clicking tonight.

R.A. Dicky is the starter of choice for the Mets.  Didn't he just pitch a game on television like a couple of days ago?  Maybe not.  Dicky is knuckleballer which normally isn't what you want facing the Marlins.  However, the Marlins have had success against him in the past.  Dickey has been lights out when pitching at home.

Ichthyomancy is good to go.

Best of Luck to You!

Tonight is e-mail Tuesday!

Chris Coghlan is the 2009 NLRoY (that's a +1 for me!)

ummmm.......

hate it when we don’t score first

by LadyFish on Aug 24, 2010 7:42 PM EDT reply actions

JJ is really getting squeezed with this zone

Odd, seeing as you’d think that the guy who doesn’t throw really weird pitches would get the easier zone.

& even though it isnt an E

another bad play for our infield D; not really sure why hanley would play a grounder like that; cant imagine any other SS not charging & backhanded that ball

by byoung on Aug 24, 2010 8:00 PM EDT reply actions

unfortuantely

hanley now leads the team/infield in the E category since cantu is gone!

That is an E

glad we found the million for him and his .220 average and couldn’t pay cody the rest of the year..

JJs gotta be pissed

wouldnt be surprised to see some frustation come up later in the game here

by byoung on Aug 24, 2010 8:04 PM EDT reply actions

we should steal every time a hitter is behind in the count

force him to throw fastballs when hes behind or risk giving up easy SBs

Boy, that looked close at first...

what the heck, I’m a homer… Danny was SAFE!

JJ at 85 pitches

The Hopper is warming in the pen

Just a rough night for JJ

Doesn’t have his control down (cooler weather maybe having an effect?), getting a rather small strike zone, and yet he still only gave up 2 earned runs. Proof of an ace: even a bad outing doesn’t look too bad.
