The Marlins are looking to secure a split of the series tonight.

Josh Johnson takes the hill for the Marlins.  JJ has been outstanding in his recent trips to the mound.  In his last outing he ran into trouble with the pitch count and ended up throwing 120 pitches in just 6.1 innings.  But that happens when you are striking everyone out.  Hopefully the Giants won't do to JJ what they did to Ricky, i.e. foul everything off.

Matt Cain is on the mound for the Giants.  In Cain's last outing he went 8 innings, allowing 0 runs on just 3 hits.  The Marlin saw him earlier in the season and all he did was pitch 7 innings of 3 hit, 2 run ball.  Hopefully the Fish learned something from that.  I mean something other than walking back to the dugout shaking their heads.

Ichthyomancy is ready for round two of Midnight Baseball.

Best of Luck to You!

Nationals to honor Andre Dawson August 10

The Washington Nationals will finally tip their hat to their Montreal Expos legacy by honoring newly inducted Hall of Famer Andre Dawson before the game August 10.

LoMo will wear #20...

The number worn by Miguel Cabrera in 2003. Cabrera would switch to #24 in 2004.

  1. was last worn by Matt Treanor.

This info will be on the quiz.

LoMo swung at a good pitch from Cain and put it in play for his first ML hit. Sometimes they put good wood on the ball even when you’re throwing well.

stupid rockies fans at purple row

rockies now 2-10 since all star break with a loss today..
..serves them right!!

by flmarlins7 on Jul 28, 2010 12:02 AM EDT reply actions

That's weird.

I have been over there on many occasions and they have always been nice to me. Maybe they were just having a bad day.

by craig on Jul 28, 2010 12:08 AM EDT up reply actions

i was nice at first but then they started making fun of fishstripes

and marlins fan population in general.. so i started telling them how many rockies JJ had struck out everytime he would get a K..

..and ofcourse that didnt go along well with anyone and just seemed to piss them off more!!

and then i left!

by flmarlins7 on Jul 28, 2010 12:10 AM EDT up reply actions

just saying i wasnt on here because no one was ever visits fishstripes

and how their stadium sells out every game, blah! blah! blah!

..i wonder how much its selling out now with their 2-11 record, it was COMPLETELY empty the 3 marlins games i went to in april.. the doubleheader had maybe 20% full and next day was maybe 30% full at best!

by flmarlins7 on Jul 28, 2010 12:16 AM EDT up reply actions

funny thing is i live a stone's throw away from coors..

..literally.. my apartment complex wall borders coors fence.. and i generally root for the rockies all season except for the 6-7 games against the marlins..

..but havent really felt like rooting for/watching the rockies at all since purple row experience.. i mean they were really classless!!

by flmarlins7 on Jul 28, 2010 12:14 AM EDT up reply actions

seems like jj
