The Marlins are going to try this win the series thing again.

Chris Volstad returns to the hill for the Marlins.  Volstad was sent to New Orleans to fine tune his craft.  While in the Big Easy he pitched 17 innings giving up 13 hits, allowing 6 runs, striking out 13 and walking 9.  This adds up to a 1-0 record and a 3.18 ERA.  He last pitched on July 21 and threw 70 pitches.  So he will be going on three-days rest.  Sometimes sinker ball pitchers do a little better when tired.  But he won't go very deep into the game.

Jair Jurrjens is on the mound for the Braves.  Jurrjens has been most excellent since returning to the rotation.  And to top that off, the Marlins have never done much against him.  However, there is hope, his ERA in day games this season is 8.03 and he is much better at home.  Probably the best thing the Fish can do is to run up his pitch count and get him out of there.

Ichthyomancy is ready for the normal Sunday day game.

Best of Luck to You!

okay, now just put Donnie Murphy in.

Murphy does a thing, Marlins win, problem solved.

I call him LeBron Jim for short.

Him and Murphy deserve a huge round of beers from the bullpen…
