Marlins Roster Moves: So Long, Nate Robertson.
The Marlins have designated Nate Robertson for assignment.
That didn't take long. Apparently the team is not appreciative of outings such as the one Nate blessed them with Tuesday night against the Rockies, when he gave up eight runs in five innings.
Hopefully there are a few teams out there who didn't catch the highlights lowlights of the game--or of Nate's season--since the Marlins will need to either trade or release him in the next ten days.
In the meantime, let the speculation begin as to who will take Nate's spot in the rotation. Volstad and VandenHurk seem the likeliest candidates at this point.
In other roster news, Brett Hayes has landed on the DL with a bruised wrist. The Marlins have called up Brad Davis to take over back-up catcher duties, and RHP Jorge Sosa will join the bullpen.
The Marlins have also outrighted Mike Lamb to AAA New Orleans.

Ronny Paulino is a gem
This guy should be in a Marlins uniform for as long as time will allow. A rifle arm and a good bat. Reminds me of Pudge. A keeper and he’ll get better………
I like Paulino too
Great catcher, good arm, decent hitter, a good all around package. He has been a trooper this season for us.
What's more frustrating than being a Marlins and Orioles fan? Eye surgery???

I don't know, he still can't hit righties
He’s done well for us this year, but I’d be concerned having him be the primary starter for an entire season.
