Ronny Paulino gets no respect despite being a solid player!

At every home game, it is extremely frustrating to see everyone wearing Ramirez shirts and clapping wildly for Ramirez, Cantu and Stanton every time they are up, yet one of our greatest talents, Ronny Paulino...seems to gets no recognition for his outstanding performance.

Here are the facts:

Ronny has a .310 batting average, the highest for any Marlins player this season. He may not hit many home runs, but he hits, and hits extremely well.

Ronny has safely hit safely in 12 out of his last 14 games. He is one of the most consistent, if not the most consistent hitter the Marlins have this season..

Ronny is a heck of a catcher. When he throws from the plate to 1st or 2nd base, runners scramble for safety, only to be tagged out. Just last night he deflated the New York Mets by throwing out their first runner at 1st base...and he's done this several times in the last few weeks!

The man has heart, and he plays better than some of our "stars," including the lazy diva, aka. Hanley Ramirez, who has played extremely lazy this season...ie. the ball he kicked to the outfield, the lackluster hitting, the lack of enthusiasm.

Stanton still has a LONG way to go, Cantu has been spotty this season, and Uggla can be a finicky hitter at times too. Ronny has been one of the few bright spots in this long season...it's a shame more people don't see that.

Ronny's a beast!

I believe he is about to set some record for most consecutive games started as catcher.

Ronny has been very good

But there have been four Marlins players hitting better than Paulino as a whole. Those same four hitters have also contributed more wins than Paulino, and they include Hanley.

In short, I love how Paulino has stepped up for us, but don’t delude yourself. He’s been more or less our fifth best position player.

I know he is not a home run machine, but...

You’ve got to give the man credit… he has really come through for the team in a big way. He’s earned respect as far as am concerned. I still have not given up on Hanley despite his attitude, and I believe Stanton will come around, but it’s nice to know we have a solid catcher taking up some of the slack night after night.

What's more frustrating than being a Marlins and Orioles fan? Eye surgery???

That I can agree with.

He’s been very good. His hitting production from the catcher position is well above average.
