According to John Heyman of SI, the Marlins are offering him the job on a 4 year basis and he is flying to Miami tonight to meet with the team brass, including the rare appearance by one infamous art deal/scoundrel owner.
I hope that his friendship with Loria (apparently for over a decade now), gives him the ability to persuade him into spending money, but who knows. As friends, he certainly knows the BS situation that our coaches endure and the ridiculous pressure that Loria puts on them whilst providing minimal assets to manipulate.
I feel for Edwin, as he was the 1st Puerto Rican manager and this will rob him the opportunity to coach in his homeland next week. It would be nice if Bobby started on Tuesday at least. Let's face it, we're struggling to go anywhere this season and 1 game wouldn't hurt.
