D-Train back?

Do you guys think the Marlins should bring back Dontrelle Willis??

http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/marlins/2010/05/31/florida-marlins-have-mild-interest-in-a-dontrelle-willis-re-union/

I'm all for this decision considering the team needs some lefty help out of the bullpen and maybe even another arm in the rotation when somebody needs a break. Plus I bet we would get him at a reasonable price. Willis was always one of my all-time favorite Marlins and I would love to have him come back home. Thoughts?

You'd be sorely disappointed by the results

Something is broken with Dontrelle Willis, and it is a long shot to be fixed. Replacing a starter, even one as mediocre as Robertson, would be a bad idea.

Willis just seems to lose velocity at random intervals during a start

He’s a long-term rejuvenation project, but one I’d think many teams (Fish included) would be interested in at the right cost.

Chris Coghlan is NLRoY 2009 (that's a +1 for me!)

I wouldn't mind it.. even crossed my mind..

but he would have to go to the minors and tune up, them be a lefty out of the bullpen as a specialist or long reliever. If he proves to be back in old form, then consider him for the rotation. While Robertson is by no means great, he is average enough and gets us by most of the time, without too much of a hole.

Also, consider the other parts of the trade and how they’re working out:
Burke – not sure what’s wrong with him, but best piece so far, until this year..
Miller – inconsistent, no where near ready for another shot
Cameron – going to lose playing time in a week to Stanton.. struggling defensively and inconsistent at the plate..

Not even sure what else we got anymore, but they should feel bad and just give him to us..
