This Just Blew My Mind

Reading over on Fish Bytes, I was stunned to see that Hensley was sick with the same stomach bug when he came in to the game yesterday. This begs the question, why in the name of hell do you throw a sick guy out on the hill!!! Words fail me at the stupidity of this move. If someone could please explain why on earth this makes sense in any way, please fill me in, thanks.

Now, this is the team we wanted to see.

Marlins are hitting — all our position players but Coghlan and Sanchez have at least one hit — and the leadoff triple to Cora has been Nolasco’s only real wrong move…

These Are the Kinds of Games the Fish Must Win

If they want to contend in the NL East. There’ll be plenty of games where they score 8 plus runs, but it’ll be these 3-1, 4-2 type games that will determine their fate.

Yeah... he pitched even better than his stats tonight.

And his stats were good. He got into two situations of any magnitude — the triple to Cora, and the two walks — and the bad luck is, they both happened with no outs. It took them two outs to bring the guy around this time.

DirecTV MLB channel free this week

So I’m trying to take in as many TV games as possible while it’s free. I shelled out $180 last season and didn’t watch it enough to justify it again, so I’ll rely on the MLB At Bat radio streams and just follow the Marlins (and maybe Rays) on the regular channels.

When the roof happens, it will rain. For now, we can enjoy games at Joe Robbie/Pro Player/Dolphins/Dolphin/Landshark/Sun Life/[your name here] Stadium.

:-(

When the roof happens, it will rain. For now, we can enjoy games at Joe Robbie/Pro Player/Dolphins/Dolphin/Landshark/Sun Life/[your name here] Stadium.

I wonder if Freddi has a sign for intentional walk

Or does he just go to the pen when he wants to put a guy on?

Finally, a good decision

Do not pitch to Jason Bay in this situation, not with Gary Matthews on deck.

Leo has thrown 40 pitches

Never a good number for a closer.

That's one thing Wood does well

Problem is, he attracts a lot of bats to his strikes.

Wood can do it.

Anyone we can call “Woody” has got to be good.

Have I mentioned lately I was a Jason Wood fan??

Finally

It’s only the second game of the season. I don’t know if i can do this 160 more times…. of course I can.

Gator Bait: The first, and still the best.

I don't know what's more impressive.

The Marlins rapped out 17 hits. Or, They gave up nine walks.

by dcfish on Apr 7, 2010 11:26 PM EDT reply actions

I couldn't agree any more, ladyfish.

For me, every time Leo is on the mound, even if we have a big lead the game becomes a nail biter to the end.

I'd really like to see a two-headed closer situation.

Wood the righty, and Dan Meyer the lefty. They’re the only two guys in that bullpen I really trust 100%. (Well, I like Badenhop in long relief. But he’s not a closer candidate.)

Bass is a kind of fish.

My favorite part about this game:

Veras gets credited with a hold
And it’s not the ‘our heads in our hands’ kind either
