Jai Miller and Cristhian Martinez DFA'd

Jai Miller and Cristhian Martinez were designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.

The Marlins have designated outfielder Jai Miller and righthander Cristhian Martinez for assignment, tweets MLB.com's Joe Frisaro. The moves open up 40-man roster spots for Mike Lamb and Jose Veras.

Being designated for assignment means that both will have to clear waivers, which I'm not sure either will do so.  And neither can be pulled back because they are now on irrevocable waivers.  But should they clear waivers they can be assigned to the minors.  Jai Miller and Cristhian Martinez probably don't figure into the Marlins longterm plans, but it is still has to be a sad experience for the two.
