Big Start Coming Up for Fish

the doubleheader gives fredi an open spot in the rotation early in the year

Star-divide

pitching nolasco & robertson for the doubleheader on saturday means that the fish are in need of a starter for wednesday night's game aginst the paders. unless of course the freddy decides to start nolasco or robertson on 3 days rest; which seems unlikely. so this leaves the question of who fredi &/or the FO feel is the most deserving candidate. though it may be only 1 spot start i feel if the rotation (& especially the bullpen) continue to be as hit/miss then the fish will be forced to eventually call-up someone to rotate out the bullpen or spot start for struglling/injured SPs. so, who do the fish go with?

1. doubtful robertson or nolasco go on 3 days rest

2. henlsey or hopper could get a spot start here esp. with sanches coming back, but not sure anyone is confident about stretching out the bullpen, or

3. the most obvious: get a call-up to spot start:

- vandenhurk: easily the most deserving in my opinion. in '09: he had 5 QS out of 11 total; also 49 Ks & a 4.30 era in 58 total IPs. this is enough evidence to give him a spot as a starter IMO, let alone long reliever. had a decent spring with only 1 bad IP.

-miller: been very inconsistent, but could go out & throw 7 scoreless at any time. you never know with him. who knows what the fish will do with him. not sure how hes doing in the minors this year

-west/sinkbeil : not sure whos most MLB ready after miller/vandenhurk/west... never know with marlins FO anyway since they may be holding back some guys to not waste service time.

who do you all think should get the start?? & if we see some success from a young guy do you think that warrants another start, or even a spot in our struggling bullpen??
