Pulled his left groin in yesterday’s game

Cody was scratched.

via JoeFrisaro on twitter: Cody Ross felt discomfort in his thumb while taking BP, and he was scratched.

Wait, the other Joe (and everyone else) is reporting it is a groin issue

joecapMARLINS – Cody Ross scrathed from #Marlins lineup with tightness in his groin. He’d been out since Wednesday bc of sore right thumb

jimenez

Anyone heard anything about this Jimenez kid? I’ve heard he’s playing awesome.

he was part of the trade for Lindstrom

the stros rule 5 drafted him from the Redsox. So far I wouldn’t call his playing awesome, but its been far from bad.

I hate to say it but Bonifacio has really impressed me so far! So has Stanton, who still most likely won’t start the season in the MLB.

It wouldn't be ridiculous for Bonifacio to become an effective player.

Bonifacio has some pretty clear weaknesses: he can’t hit high fastballs, and he doesn’t draw enough walks. He also has some strengths: he’s incredibly fast, and also… incredibly fast. Fast enough, I’d say, that even a .350 OBP would make him a credible no. 2 hitter. (I’d say leadoff, but that’s Coghlan for now.)

I know Bonifacio spent a lot of time working with Luis Castillo over the off-season… that seems like a great idea for me. Despite a near-total lack of power, Castillo was one of the best top-of-the-order hitters in baseball for many years, based in part on his speed, but also on his smart approach at the plate. If Bonifacio learned even some of those skills (bunting for hits, stretching the count, figuring out some way to deal with those high fastballs), he’d be a pretty credible player. Probably not good enough to earn the 2B job over Coghlan, but credible.

It's a good thing Larry Bird's initials weren't MJ. '80s basketball was confusing enough -- Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Marles Jarkley, Mominique Jilkins... Makeem Jolajuwon...

I've not been one of the boni bashers...I actually though he was getting better last season..I'm actually pretty suprised someone agrees

If he does end up starting I’d rather him start 3b w/ cantu at 1b…he should still be our Utility guy not quite a starter for us yet

I don't know if he'll ever develop the bat to be a third baseman...

…to say nothing of the glove. Second would be different, I think — but we don’t need another one of those, do we?

In any event, let’s wait until after the first week of spring training to worry about what starting job Bonifacio has earned. At this point, we’re still not sure he’s any better than last year… and even if he is, we might be better off using him as a utility infielder… we certainly don’t have anyone with that role locked up.

Yeah, but Coghlan's presumably moving in.

And the score is...11-2

How odd the score for both games was 11-2? Of course, it would have been nicer if we would have won both.
