Scott Olsen - a blast from the past

When the Marlins face the Nationals on March 8th, an old friend will take the mound.

Lefthander Scott Olsen, who underwent shoulder surgery last season, will start Monday's game against the Florida Marlins at Space Coast Stadium.

Forgive me but I still like Scottie O, and I wish him all the best, shoulder surgery is a hard thing to recover from just ask Anibal.  I really don't care what we do against him in spring training, but when the season rolls around I hope we "light him up like a pinball machine".

The statement in quotes is from a movie, anyone care to enter a guess as to which one?

ive heard that expression in a couple of movies but I think it started with Jack Nicholson in “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest”

Possibly...

but it wasn’t the one I was looking for. The movie I was referencing is a baseball movie, so please try again.

I believe your thinking of the movie Bull Durham, it’s a partial quote taken from Crash Davis, played by… Kevin Costner?

Speaking of lighting Olsen up like a pinball machine,

Randy Messenger came through Reno here last year in AAA and I asked him if Olsen had it coming. All I got was an emphatic nod and big grin in return as he ran off the field(Messenger is local, so wanted to get out of the stadium fast to catch up with people.)

Go Nevada Wolf Pack!

Scottie O

I think Scott Olsen is set to have a great year with the Nats, even if they don’t give him the run support like last year. He can win three to four games more if they don’t commit so many errors on the field. Go Scott!!!
