Derrick Turnbow released

In case you didn't know, Derrick Turnbow left yesterday's game with extreme pain in his shoulder and now his attempt to make the club is over.

Derrick Turnbow's comeback attempt with the Marlins is over. Now, he's hoping to salvage his career.

The former All-Star closer left in the eighth inning today after suffering severe pain in his right shoulder. He faced only two batters in a 12-3 loss to Washington, walking one and hitting another.

He will undergo an MRI on Wednesday; he said surgery is a possibility.

Never was sure he had a real chance of making the club, since his control has been really spotty for sometime.  Probably due to his shoulder problems.  But I really hate to see this happen, he deserves better.  Everyone deserves better.  Sadly, in life, that isn't how it works.  We wish Derrick the best and a speedy recovery.  He will be going to see Dr. Andrews and if Dr. Andrews can't fix the problem, no one can.
