The latest on the walking wounded.
First up Jeremy Hermida
Out since Thursday with an oblique strain, Jeremy Hermida had a cortisone shot Sunday to speed his recovery. Once the initial soreness or the shot subsides, Hermida should be able to begin baseball activity.
Next Brendan Donnelly
Right-hander Brendan Donnelly (right calf) will be activated from the disabled list today and be available to pitch Tuesday.
Finally, Chris Coghlan
Rookie left-fielder Chris Coghlan went 2-for-5 and extended his hitting streak to 14 games, the longest by a rookie this season. But he left Sunday's game after jamming his left ankle in a collision with catcher Wil Nieves while scoring in the ninth inning. Brett Carroll replaced Coghlan in left field. Coghlan, who will rest his ankle today when Florida is idle, expects to start Tuesday against the Mets.
Don't be surprised if Coghlan gets an extra day or two off, but hopefully it will all feel better by tomorrow.
And that concludes today's update.
