Hanley Ramirez hit a milestone in his young career yesterday.
The game's lone run through the first six innings came courtesy of Ramirez, who bashed a J.D. Martin offering deep into the left-field stands. Ramirez (595) became the fourth fastest shortstop in terms of games to reach the 100-homer plateau, behind Alex Rodriguez (470), Nomar Garciaparra (491) and Ernie Banks (500), according to Elias.
"I didn't even know it was my 100th home run," Ramirez said. "After the game they brought the ball and told me."
I have even heard of those other guys.
Congrats Hanley!
