Jeremy Hermida maybe back soon

Jeremy Hermida may rejoin the Marlins as early as this weekend.

Jeremy Hermida took batting practice Wednesday for the first time since Sept. 2 when he went to the sidelines with a strained oblique. It's possible Hermida could be available to return to the lineup by the weekend.

While I'm glad that Hermida is feeling better and is able to resume baseball activities, I am not sitting on the edge of chair hoping for his return.  Which maybe kinda strange since he is a better hitter than Maybin, though much slower on the base path, and about as lost trying to play the outfield.  And I have given up all hope of the Marlins regularly starting Carroll, for reasons I can't fathom.  Still I'm not excited.

Go figure.

At least Maybin is younger and has potential. Hermida’s been on a downward spiral for a long time, I we weren’t gonna see him back this year (and next year too for that matter). And I also agree on the BC comment. I can’t fathom why he isn’t getting more playtime. I think he’s got got potential for some power in his bat, and gold glove caliber defense.

Hm

anyone see a similarity between Maybin and Herm?

Both highly regarded prospects, both do good when first called up, both not exactly living up to expectations after week 1?
