Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Braves at Marlins (9/1)
Atlanta Braves at Florida Marlins, Sep 1, 2009 7:10 PM EDT
The Marlins will be looking to even the series in tonight's game.
Anibal Sanchez takes the hill for the Fish. This will be Anibal's third start since returning from rehab. The first was excellent, the second, not so much. We will see what we get tonight.
Tim Hudson returns to the mound for the Braves for the first time since having elbow surgery. Everyone knows Hudson has the mental capabilities to pitch very well, whether his body can deliver remains to be seen.
Ichthyomancy is scrambling but will be ready.
Best of Luck to You!

gamefish's sister making picks for her since her phone got jacked at Land Shark Stadium
(Obviously, I love my sister, because the only thing I like about baseball is the food. And sometimes making fun of the national anthem singer.)

No F'n way!?!
Can’t believe there gonna try to get this one in.
I’m taking my parents to the game tomorrow and was hoping our tickets would be good for a double header.
Oh well. Play Ball!

Hi All...
Phils fan here…not trolling. Our game is over, and thankfully we didn’t have to let our bullpen get in the game. Wife’s out of town and I’d like to pay attention to some more ball tonight. This game is most important and y’all had to sit through a 3 hr rain delay…so guess I’ll be hanging out here awhile. Good Luck.

we’re hoping the good Hamels is back. Two games in a row he’s done awesome. 17 straight shutout innings.

ehh…that’s not that bad. That kind of slump is pretty regular for people who aren’t career .300+ hitters.

phils recalled ‘one’ player for callups. LHRP Jack Taschner who was quite awful when he was up ealier in the year.
Holding spots for DL guys….Dobbs, Condrey, Myers, Romero.
For the first time in a while, we don’t have that speedy PR to call up (ala Bourn and Golson). Maybin oughta help y’all out this month.

Just an all-around disappointment
Pitching was inconsistent, hitting was even moreso, but whatever, it’s nothing new.

I stayed for the game.
Did you get a response text, Craig? He was texting my friend demanding baseball tickets in exchange for the phone. What a jerk. Anyway… at least, you know, the awesome game was worth staying until 1:00 AM for. (Although we did have an entire section to ourselves.) Now off to cancel my phone.

No, he didn't respond...
but that has to be one big pain in the butt to get your phone stolen.
I can’t believe you made it all the way through the game. As they say: sleep is overrated.
