Flotsam and Jetsam

It has been awhile since we have had a Flotsam and Jetsam post, so why not now.

Here we go:

JCR put together his list of the 50 Top Marlins players.  What criteria he used I cannot say, but I don't think I would have put Scott Pose ahead of Jeff Conine.  I'm kidding, he didn't do that. Checkout the list and see if you agree.

JCR was a busy man and also put together his list of Marlins notables who only played one season or less.  Not sure I agree with his first team, but it isn't my list.

A couple of the Mermaids were on SouthFlorida.com to introduce their new calendar.  If you want one you need to get to the stadium really earlier on the day of the giveaway.

If you are fan of twitter your devotion is about to payoff.  Should you like some tickets at a reduced price, all you have to do is follow the instructions on this web page.

And that concludes today's Flotsam and Jetsam.  (as a note of no interest, I can't figure out how to get the blockquote thing to go away. so be it.)

wow, seeing that list made me realize something...

imagine how sick the Marlins would be if they kept some of those good players. I know we also received alot of other good talent in return for some of those guys, but just picture a lineup like this:

CF- Pierre
LF- Coghlan
SS- Hanley
1B- Cabrera
3B- Lowell
RF- Ross
C- Pudge
2B- Castillo

that would just be too nasty to compete with

and Conine as the bench coach haha

Umm...

Hanley and Lowell were traded for each other

Go Nevada Wolf Pack!

Yeah but...

We could have thrown Dontrelle in the deal to take Lowell’s place.

to be fair....

the main guys in that Marlins-Red Sox trade were Hanley and Beckett… Lowell and Anibal Sanchez (with 2 other prospects) were just thrown in.. I’m sure if we didnt wanna trade Lowell that they would have taken someone else, like Alex Gonzalez (which they ended up signing later on that same year as a free agent)
