In case you wondering where Tim Spooneybarger is now, and I doubt you were, he is in Pensacola.

The Pelicans Training Academy is pleased to announce the addition of Tim Spooneybarger to the Academy staff. Spooneybarger brings major league experience to the Pelicans Training Academy, pitching with the Florida Marlins and the Atlanta Braves.

Not a bad gig.  Sure it is the indepenent league, but so what.  It is a chance to work with eager youngsters and drive to work with a smile on your face everyday..

I care very much of Spooney's whereabouts.

Injuries destroyed what could have (and should have) been a very productive major league career. To this day he is one of my all-time favorite Marlins.

I thought that someone would have taken a flier on him this season. BTW, speaking of Ayala (Twins’ fan here): He is probably your fourth best RH reliever at this point. Good luck to you guys, I hope you make it to the post season. The NL East seems within your reach and so does the Wild-card (other than those pesty Giants)
