Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Nationals at Marlins (6/30)
Washington Nationals at Florida Marlins, Jun 30, 2009 7:10 PM EDT
The stats thingy has the wrong starting pitcher for the Nationals therefore it is old school.
The Marlins are going for the series win tonight.
Sean West takes the mound for the Fish. West had a good outing his last time on the hill going six innings giving up only four hits and walking three. The Nationals have never seen him before.
Craig Stammen is the Nationals choice. Stammen is a rookie and is the usual fast ball (90 mph), curve, change type of pitcher. The Marlins have never faced him.
Game time is 7:10 p.m.
It is not suppose to rain, but around here, that means nothing.
Ichthyomancy is as usual, behind.
Best of Luck to You.

Elsewhere
In Atlanta. Peachtree TV announcer: “The Braves, far and away, have the best pitching staff in the division.”
Next pitch was a Mayberry HR off Mike Gonzalez, tied game at 3 in the 8th inning.

Just got off a radio interview with WQAM and the Marlins take the lead.....
now all I have to do is get the D.A. Show to interview me every time the Marlins are behind.

If the game can't continue...
I forget the new rules. Because we scored but the inning isn’t over the game will be suspended right?
I don’t know what the report is so hopefully it’s a moot point.

Oh really?
That’s even better than I hoped for and much better than I thought! Awesome.

I think those were the old rules
but they changed not too long ago, if I’m not mistaken.

I believe
They can only suspend post season games…
… though for some reason I also want to say that if the visiting tie or took the lead in the top half of an inning (past their at bats in the 5th) the home team has the right to bat. I don’t know if with the new rule on suspending a game that means the game then gets suspended to be continued later or it reverts to the last completed inning (past the 5th)
