Anibal Sanchez made his return the Marlins rotation and it was a bit of an iffy start. It took 40 pitches to get out of the first inning and he only lasted three innings total. But there is something to be said about not having your best stuff and battling through. Anibal, while throwing 71 pitches, only gave up 2 hits, 1 run, but he did walk 3. I guess it something to build on. But it wasn't a problem because the Hopper was waiting in wings.
The Marlins took the lead in the second off Danny's 100th career home run and extended it in the third. After that the Hopper did his thing throwing 5 shutout innings and only allowing only 1 hit. As Cody said: "He IS the Hopper."
The offense knowing that Hayden Penn needed some work added on big time when Cody hit his second grand slam as a Marlin.
All in all, it was a very easy night to be a Marlins fan.
