Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Marlins at Rays (6/28)
Florida Marlins at Tampa Bay Rays, Jun 28, 2009 1:38 PM EDT
The Marlins find themselves in sweep avoidance mode.
Big Game Andrew takes the mound for the Marlins. Since coming off the DL, BGA has started to come into his own, his last start was most excellent. The Marlins didn't win it, but that wasn't his fault. When he stays within himself and keeps the ball down, he does very well. The Rays have never seen him before.
David Price will be the starter for the Rays. Price is a lefty who is not a soft-tosser. He is mainly a fast ball (94 mph) and slider (86 mph) guy. He sometimes has trouble throwing strikes and when he is hitting the zone, he tends to leave to the ball up. Which would explain why 60 percent of the balls hit against him end up being airborne.
Ichthyomancy is pretending like it is ready.
Best of Luck to You!

Really if will just stand there...
you have a better than 50=50 chance that Price will walk you.
So all you need to look for is a fat pitch over the plate.

Why did he take him out?
Paulino is 0-2 agaisnt Price today, so the ‘stats’ say that’s a good matchup…..
I was hoping he would stay in

Sorry to be a bother again...
But I had made picks for Sunday as well (http://www.fishstripes.com/2009/6/26/925965/the-marlins-will-face-scott-kazmir#17446379) and picked Cody as my player of the game. Thanks very much.
