The, hopefully, well rested Marlins are looking to even the series tonight.

This is another Super Saturday, but before you start recharging the batteries on your radio, this one will actually be on television.  Go figure.

The love-fest of the Yankees and their fans will probably continue on FSFL once again.  Yeah, I know, it sucks, but what you gonna do.  Can you tell I like the Yankees about as much as I like the Phillies?  Didn't think so....I hide it well.

Burnett will be making his first start in JRS since telling us all to pound sand. (Yes, my memory is that long.  Okay, that is not exactly what he said, but I think there is a thing called artistic license.)  He still has a good fastball and a nasty curve.

Johnson takes the hill for the Marlins and the Yankees have never seen him before live.  They are about to get their introduction.  The one thing that worries me is that he pitched a complete game his last time out and when he did that earlier in the season his next outing was his worst of the year.  Hopefully that trend will be broken.

Ichthyomancy is good to go.

Best of Luck to You!

the strike-em-out-throw-em-out double play's ugly cousin:

the strike-em-out-stretch-to-keep-the-throw-from-going-into-center-field single play.

Oogie giving JJ a hug to say he’s sorry for not turning the double play. No crying in baseball, but there is hugging apparently.

Damn!

That Was A Great Game

by HadMatter on Jun 20, 2009 9:58 PM EDT reply actions

and you thought we saw an exciting game...

Down in AAA, the Zephyrs and Houston’s affiliate Round Rock played 10 innings of scoreless baseball. In the top of the 11th, the Zephyrs score 4, including three on a Gaby homer. But in the bottom half, they manage to give up 5, with the winning run coming on a throwing error by Brett Hayes after he tried to turn a rare 1-2-somebody double play.

So, yeah. A 5-4 game with 10 scoreless innings. Wow.
