Fish Wrap - Marlins 2 Red Sox 1

The Marlins took the final game of the series, avoiding a sweep, and finishing the road trip with a 4-2 record.  Which is pretty darn good by the way I see it.

Now, to the game.

Ricky Nolasco was dealing and when Ricky is on there isn't a team in the majors, or anywhere else for that matter, that can do anything with him.  Oh sure, he made one bad pitch that Youkilis hit for a home run, but that was the only hit he gave up in the game.  The only hope the opposing team has is to either get him out of the game or hit a bunch of popups to Bonifacio, either could increase their chances of scoring runs.

But fortunately in tonight's game Ricky's pre-game routine including giving cigar and rum to Tlaloc which brought on the rains and kept the bullpen away.*

When Dan Uggla and Ronny Paulino went yard in the second inning, that was all she wrote, guaranteeing a Marlins win.

Even the 2 hours, 26 minute rain delay before the announcement of the Marlins victory, couldn't dampen the night.

All in all, it was just another Marlins routine victory.

*This didn't happen, the Tlaloc cigar and rum thing, but it makes the recap more interesting.

Not to beat a dead horse.....

but Sportscenter’s ‘highlights’ of the game was Papi’s dropped pop-up, and a few Nolasco K’s. They didn’t show either of the Marlins home runs.
And then they showed an interview with Lowell where he said he was mad that they played since it was called.
No mention of the 4-2 road trip, and the anchor said it was a ‘loss for the Sox.’ I don’t think they actually mentioned the word ‘Marlins’ at any point.
