Around SBN: Fighters React to Nick Diaz's Positive Drug Test

Florida Marlins and the DH

The Marlins just aren't good at this whole DH thing.

Jorge Cantu doubled in his first at-bat Tuesday at Fenway Park, ending a 0 for 13 drought for the Marlins' designated hitters.

Florida DHs have an all-time average of .224 -- third-worst among NL teams.

''It's just a jinx, I guess,'' Cantu said.

No wonder the team is in the national league.

NL teams in general aren’t good at DHing because the teams carry less impact bats on the bench. This isn’t to say that AL DH’s are any better, since most AL teams toss a random non-defense guy in the position anyway.
