I need Help!

My 4 year old Dell Inspiron 9400 crashed last week and I need to replace it. My budget for the computer is up to $850, but the cheaper the better. I want something with at least 250GB Hard Drive, 14" screen minumum, and Intel processor, WiFi capability build in. The OS doesn't matter though I'd prefer XP. I am open to a Mac if it is at the right price. If it has bluetooth capability that is a plus, but I know the chips can be bought for $30 so am not too worried.

I have focused my search on Macs, HPs, and Lenovo IdeaPads). I also can't find many reviews for the IdeaPad's so am not sure how they are in terms of functionality and service.

Any help, suggestions, or tips would be great. I have no clue what speed processor, Ram, screen, graphics are good these days, but just use the computer for basic home work with Office, some minor photoshop, and web surfing.

Thanks!

I don't know anything about computers

But I’m in my second year of college and my Gateway is doing a pretty good job.
Here’s the site:

I have an M series and it only cost me $500. Mines dosen’t have the Intel processor but there are others that do on the site. Plus mine dosen’t have Bluetooth built-in so I just bought the dongle.
Hope you find what you like!

You're not going to find a Mac for that price, unfortunately

I have a Mac and love it, but you’ll definitely be paying substantially more. As far as Windows computers go, I’ve never found a particular brand to be any better, but I usually bought HP.

I have a mac... and you could find a used Macbook for that price...

or you can pay around 900-950 for a new one… I would just buy a macbook (its what I have) and get an external hard drive, which is what I did. Very inexpensive alternative. Oh, and my mac is great. Never any problems, very fast and compatible with just about anything (where theres a will, theres a way).

Album coming soon

I made a move finally

Got the Lenovo (IBM) IdeaPad Y450 – it had stellar reviews and was on sale big time. I will let everyone know how it works out, as it’s their new line that is suppose to appear/act like a Mac, except with windows… so I get the viruses and stuff. But I bought Norton 360 to deal with that. Plus, I was able to sell my 3 year old computer for a good portion of the price of the new one. ANyone know how to wipe out all personal date like browsing history?
