Jorge Cantu was rightly named the NL Player of the Week.
Florida Marlins first baseman Jorge Cantu has been named the National League Player of the Week for the period ending May 3.
Cantu led the NL and tied for the major league lead with 14 RBI, while leading the National League with 22 total bases. He batted .346 (9-of-26) with four home runs, and posted an .846 slugging percentage.
Congratulations Jorge, richly deserved.
