Sorry about the lack of posts today, but I'm having a bit of a plumbing problem at the ol' manor.

Anyway, here goes:

The NL East leading Marlins will try and snap a six-game losing streak tonight.

Sanchez normally does very well against the Mets, as does Maine against the Marlins.  Maine has reverted back to old delivery.

Ichthyomancy is ready to get the week started.

Best of Luck to You!

I'm pretty curious as to when FSN is gonna

figure out that there has been no audio on any of their interviews the entire show.

I noticed that, too...

but then I realized I’m still at work and not actually watching the game, so in fact the entire game is both silent and invisible.

I believe the Marlins are getting shelled because I am not watching the game.

This is what happens when I’m stuck at work. I’m sorry everyone. I take this one upon myself.

so...

I was thinking earlier about how maybe winning tonight would be a good idea. Apparently Anibal has a different strategy working.

Rally nap?

Oh, so that’s what our hitters are doing. Brilliant!

by Fishcrazy on Apr 27, 2009 9:17 PM EDT reply actions

a million dollars if anyone can figure out who says "Who's that?"

in the Just for Men commercial before the lady says, “My husband.” Seriously. There’s no one one with her to say it as she approaches the guy.

FYI, Just for Men makes the shittiest commercials imaginable. Anyone remember the one with the two little girls who surprise their dad with a box of Just for Men and say something like, “It’s time. We think you’d be a really good catch for someone.” Didn’t he notice his two 7-year-olds snuck off to the drugstore??

by Fishcrazy on Apr 27, 2009 9:31 PM EDT reply actions

It's two random chicks in the room who are supposed to be whispering about what a catch her husband is

I DESPISE that commercial with all that is within me. I just can’t stand the way she says the word “husband.” It grates on my nerves for whatever reason.

by GameFish on Apr 27, 2009 9:35 PM EDT up reply actions

Heh.

Yeah, I know it’s supposed to be her talking to one of her old high-school chums. But as far as the actual execution, there’s no one around her. I can imagine the director saying, “No, no, no…having her standing near a friend just ruins her whole promenade across the room. Forget it. Just dump out the friend. We’ll dub it in later.”

And did she not go to the reunion with her husband? She’s amazed to see him there, as if they don’t live together and she didn’t see him pouring this stuff on his head earlier that day.

Oh, and this game sucks epically.

Tuesday Picks

This losing streak is getting ridiculous now! The Marlins must win tomorrow, mainly b/c I don’t want to fight 3 hours of traffic and then be surrounded by the most obnoxious fans in the world for 3 hours unless the Fish pull out a victory

Also, hopefully Hanley will be OK. He is the one hitter this team needs the most. I think Anibal should have thrown at Maine…not hit him, buzzed him high and in.
