Game Today

If you rush out to Ft. Lauderdale right now, you might, and I want to emphasis might, catch the last inning of the game today.

The Marlins are/were in Ft. Lauderdale to play the Orioles.

I would mention who the starting pitchers were, but really, why bother, they aren't still in the game.

This is getting sad.  I have about 11 days to get my act together or come Ichthyomancy time, I will be the most hated person on this blog.

But still, I have some time.

Meanwhile, it is the normal game today thread -- meaning you can talk about anything that suits your mood.

Have a Great Day!

I don't want to jinx it...

or maybe I do… but hermida and bonifacio are having pretty darn good springs…

not that spring stats matter, but...

…shouldn’t that be “Bonifacio is having a pretty darn good game?”

I mean, coming into today he still had a sub-300 OBP and was slugging 367. A .664 OPS would have been the 2nd worst in the NL last year by a primary 2B/3B/SS player.

At least Hermida is somewhat close to the vaunted “only Spring number that matters” of a 200 point slugging increase.

And yes, I will continue to slight Bonifacio at every given opportunity. This isn’t even a “prove me wrong” thing like I hope Gaby and Carroll will… this is a legitimate “keep him off the field” thing.

Bonaficio

It’s not a prove me wrong kind of thing. It’s just give the guy a chance. No reason to keep obsessing about it (and I will try and get off Dan Uggla’s case) After all I’m sure Bonafacio did not aske to be traded here. I’m also sure that Beinfast thinks he has potential (which means a lot more than your opinion or my opinion.)

Just give the guy a chance-watch him play and see what he can do. It seems like ripping into Bonaficio has become sort of an ego thing for you. Why not just let it go, lean back, and enjoy this very special team of ours.

Franchise

so should we be at all concerned about Hanley’s .077 average? I’d say no, of course, but I haven’t been able to follow very closely this spring. Thoughts anyone?
