Stadium News - Sort of

The county is voting on the Marlins stadium today.

The deliberations started at 1:00 p.m.  So here is the link if you want to follow along.

County Commissioners Meeting

Since I'm running really late on this I won't say much of anything else, with the exception of if you cant listen to broadcast live, Sarah Talalay may live blog it.  She did for the city's meetings.

No not really,

we are still in the citizens comment phase. While I would like to think that mattered, it honestly won’t change anyone’s opinion.

"real jobs now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I’d almost vote in favor of that, since a “real job” would have kept them from the meeting today like it did me.

unfortunately, those three hours in the AM are just a little warm-up for the real work I get to do the rest of the day. ;)

re: Samson

booooooooooooo.

Wait, no, I actually had something to say. Sorry, force of habit. Anyway, what I was going to say is that I will withhold any positive characterizations of Samson until he appears almost human during a situation that doesn’t potentially involve his being given more than $300 million.

wrong thread, I know, but...

…since everyone is hanging out here anyway…

I emailed Jayson Stark about the combined no-hitter and whether it could actually be the first spring no-no on record. If anyone can determine such a thing, it’s Stark. He was good about getting back to me the other time I asked him something, but as I recall, I used his personal email because I couldn’t find his official one at the time. This one may just go to some intern for all I know.

I emailed stark once

through his espn email and he got back to me and I had emailed about writing tips on my blog

We've sure thrown a lot of -no-hitters in a short period of time.

Think about it. We’ve been around not even 16 years, and we’ve already gotten 5 no-nos: Al Leiter, Kevin Brown, A.J. Burnett, Anibel Sanchez and now Nolasco and company. Yes, I know a spring no-hitter isn’t the same, but a no-hitter ANYTIME is darn impressive.

so?

How many are definite’s in either direction as far as anyone can tell?

by GMFB on Mar 23, 2009 7:09 PM EDT up reply actions

Haven't really watched the feed, but...

I thought I had read there were basically 4 no’s (which would mean everyone else had to be yes for the full package to go through). But then today, Talalay seemed to describe it as 2 no’s and a “has questions.”

The feed annoyed me too much to watch, so I can’t speak to how people are sounding today.

So where are we at?

I have a sick obsession with watching CSI to see if they show my building. sad, i know. but that is what life has come to without marlins games on.
