Former Marlin, Aaron Boone is slated for heart surgery.
Houston Astros infielder Aaron Boone announced on Wednesday that he will have surgery to correct a heart condition. Boone will undergo a procedure this week for a condition he has had since college that involves the aorta and aortic valve. The 36-year-old will not play this season and said he is unsure at this time if he will ever play baseball again, though he did say his condition is not an emergency situation. That is not good news, but I will say this, if he is going to have the surgery in Houston, there may not be a better place on this earth to have it. Naturally, we wish Aaron the best.
