BtB defensive graph of the Marlins middle infielders

Our friend Sky at BtB put together a graph of the improvement of Hanley Ramirez and Dan Uggla last year.

You can view the graph here:

Graph of the Day: Marlins Defensive Upgrades

I meant to post this yesterday and just plain forgot.

If you look at the graph, you will notice that both of the middle infielders improved in 2008 as compared to 2007,  Also the graph is in color, an added bonus.

It really doesn't matter if you understand the whole thing.  What is important is that the bar from 2008 is higher than the 2007 bar.  And that is a good thing.

Hanley actually hit a bit worse in 2008 than 2007, but was more valuable overall thanks to his fielding improvement.

Uggla took a significant jump up on both sides of the ball (mixing my baseball and football metaphors, evidently) making his 2008 significantly more productive than 2007.
