Hayden Penn back on the 40-man

The Marlins purchased the contract of Hayden Penn and now he is on the 40-Man roster.

The Marlins are planning on taking another look at right-hander Hayden Penn.

The team on Monday announced it had selected the contract of the 25-year-old, who spent most of the season at Triple-A New Orleans.

Florida's 40-man roster now stands at 34.

 I thought about this all night, and I still can't come with a reason for the Marlins to make this move now.  Not against the move per se, but if the Marlins want to move him off of it, he will once again have to clear waivers.  Which more than likely isn't a problem, but it still seems strange to me.  Something gives me the idea that I am missing something here.

Any thoughts?
