The Miami Sharks???
With the Marlins changing their location name to the Miami Marlins, I wonder if there's a possibility they would change there name (and logo) entirely? If they do, I like the Miami Sharks as a possibilty. It slips off your tongue better and might even increase our fan base with a cool new name and logo. I personally like the Marlins, but I would love and welcome a name like the Sharks. Maybe that's what they've been planning all along since the seats will be blue at the new stadium instead of teal. What do you guys think? Is there a different name you have in mind?

that would be awesome in my opinion. I like the marlins too, but the miami sharks sounds alot better than the miami marlins. as for the seats colors, i think they might be doing that to give the effect of the ocean

How can anything roll off the tongue better than the Miami Marlins.
If you want something else fish related else at least make the Makos.
If they’re going to make a complete change go with the Flamingos. Flamingos and Marlins actually have some baseball history in this town. Why mess with it?
I’d love it they went back old school but knowing Loria that’ll be the last thing they do.

no offense...
but that looks really tacky. this isnt a minor league team here, so those designs look horrible lol. and i will completely stop being a marlins fan if they become the miami flamingos… ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THE FLAMINGOS?!? get real

Lmao! The Flamingos? How bout we just change the name to the fruitcakes! Lol.
Atleast the name Sharks is intimidating. And the Uni’s would be great! We could have 4 alternate jerseys. We could have black, blue, white, and grey jerseys. I would make them on the computer to show you guys but Im computer illiterate. So if anyone knows how to let me know.
But the Flamingos? Pink Jerseys? Really?

Oh good
We get to keep the Marlins then.
I’d honestly prefer a hokey flamingo to some generic mean looking shark.
Anyway, “Marlins” isn’t going anywhere. It was a silly answer to a silly question.

I don't think it's a silly question at all. It brought alot of interest. Whether they'll change it or not is a different story.
But to say that it’s silly to ask is ignorant since you decided to come on this and state your opinion. You obviously voted on the poll. It’s not silly. It’s an opinion.

Agreed with as stated...
The Marlins are the best name for a pairing with Miami, and the Makos have a damn good name as well.

I liked the Marlins with Florida in front. But I don't know, Miami Marlins just isn't the same ring to it.
Miami Sharks just sounds better. And would make for better colors and uniforms. I’m going to make the jerseys on the computer some how. And we’ll see how they come out.

And a Shark is a nice logo!
I can vision it. A blue and white shark with a baseball in his mouth biting on it and showing his teeth.

Miami Marlins
No question. The alliteration is awesome. Miami Sharks doesnt “roll off the tongue” at all. Good effort with the jerseys, but thats the simplest version possible and doesnt look like anything at any level of baseball. Why change a good thing? I’m buying a current Marlins jersey soon before it’s changed. Go Fish! (not sharks).

That's a community college dude. Come on. You think anybody outside of the Kendall area knows that?
I bet if you had a poll going on with everbody that goes to MDC, atleast 40% would have no clue that the mascot is the Sharks! Lol.

its funny you say that...
cause I actually found out the mascot was a shark in my 2nd year there lol.. its not like anyone is proud to go there and is into any school related activities.. I still say Miami Sharks sounds sick

My point exactly! Lol.
The more popular Miami Sharks team is from the movie Any Given Sunday! Lol.

i would much rather them stay with the Florida Marlins.
just like the sound of it better. plus their going to have to change the logo…….

Best part about Florida Marlins...
They can move them anywhere in the state and keep the name if they wanted to.

It has already been determined
When the Marlins signed on to the stadium deal, it was agreed they will be renamed the Miami Marlins.
I do wish they would change the colors though. The Marlins should be in Blue, not Teal. Have you ever heard of a Teal Marlin? The Blue Marlin is very popular.

They always should have been the Miami Marlins.
Wayne just didn’t want to market the team as a “Miami” team.
Glad the change is finally going to happen. Can’t wait to buy the road jersey and cap!

Miami Sharks sounds better than Miami Marlins. But I don’t know why they have to change the name at all- Florida Marlins is perfect. Just because we’re moving damned stadium, it’s so annoying

The city of Miami (you know, the Politicians) wanted the name change since they're paying for half the stadium.
But they said nothing about the mascot.
