Marlins trying to lock up Josh Johnson
I hope this is accurate, but somehow I have my doubts.
The Marlins, who haven't had serious trade talks yet on Dan Uggla and Jeremy Hermida, are preparing a multiyear offer for Josh Johnson.
One, I think the team will unload Hermida. Two, while I would like to see Uggla back, I don't think it is going to happen. Three, Johnson isn't going to come cheap and the organization is known for their cheapness. It will be awhile before we know anything since the Marlins honor the blackout of news while the World Series is going on.
But there is something to be said about it being reported there is the possibility of Uggla being back and JJ signing a multiyear deal. Hope is still alive.
Now, come the Winter Meetings, this scenario could change big time.

I really hope JJ comes back
As much as i like Uggla, we have players who can replace him and do quite well at his position, which can’t be said for JJ. I’m fine with Ricky being our number 1, but then who’s our number 2? Volstad West and Sanchy certainly have the potential to be a good number 2 starter but I think they’re a couple years away from that right now. Their inconsistency killed us last year. And it’s not like we have some guy in Jacksonville/New Orleans who’s waiting to be called and start pitching like we had with West last year. Please accept the deal JJ.
And I’m so happy Hermida’s going to be departing soon, all he ever did was hold back BC from being amazing in RF. BC’s glove > Hermida’s bat. That’s how I see it anyway.
