Chum Bucket
While we are waiting for the final series of the season to commence, we might as well have a Chum Bucket.
The teams are set for the NL playoffs and all that is left to decide is which team will play which and the Marlins will have some say in that. Presently the Phillies are one game back of the Dodgers for the best record in the National League with the Cardinals being one game behind the Phillies. So that has to be worked out.
In the meantime, this is the usual Chum Bucket so you may want to practice up because in about a month you are going to be seeing a lot of them.
Have a Good Evening!

Okay, let's talk Uggla.
Who has managed to salvage a good season this year — .812 OPS, 31 home runs. But still, I get this lingering sense that people think he’s declining. Let’s look at the numbers.
I’d start with Uggla’s batting average on balls in play. This year, Uggla batted .271 on balls in play. Not great — worse than any other year he’s played, and MUCH worse than every year except 2007. So why did it happen?
Is he popping more balls up? His GB/FB ration is .59, in line with his career ratio of .60. So no.
Is he driving less balls? Nope — he’s got a .18 line-drive percentage, actually above his career .17.
It seems like he’s hitting basically the same kinds of balls as he’s always hit. And his strikeout ratio is also his lowest since ‘06 — and a full 5% lower than ’08. I’d say there’s a good chance Uggla has just had bad luck this year. Except…
49, 37, 26.
That’s Uggla’s doubles totals in the last three years. And I can’t for the life of me figure out what it means that, while Uggla’s home runs have stayed fairly constant, he’s apparently gotten so much worse at hitting doubles. I don’t think he’s gotten much slower in that time — his defensive range has actually improved if anything. Does anyone have any thoughts?
He's currently two-thirds man, one-third amazing. Which, let's face it, is still a pretty good ratio.
