Marlins prospect shot in Puerto Rico

A Marlins short stop prospect is in critical condition after being shot.

Marlins minor league infielder Osvaldo Martinez was shot several times Wednesday morning in his native Puerto Rico and is in critical condition.

Martinez, 21, who spent the 2009 season with Class A Jupiter, was driving in Carolina when he was intercepted by another vehicle, according to a police report. Martinez was shot in his left side and back, and had a laceration to the head.

Naturally we wish him all the best and our thoughts go out to him, his family and friends.

its not safe in Puerto RIco… you basically have to watch your back…. especially at night… corruption and the fact that they will layoff about 400 more cops will make it worse.. not saying that everywhere on the island is bad but if you dont know where your going you might have a problem
