New Year's Chum Bucket

Happy New Year!

If you celebrated the coming of the new year in abundance last night, I promise I will write quietly.

Let's see what we have in the way of sports for today.  The bowl game lineup is: the Blooming Onion Bowl, Credit Card Bowl, Gator Bowl, the Taxpayers Are Paying For Our Naming Rights Bowl and the Overnight Shipping Bowl.

There is also a college basketball game and a few games in the NBA.

But you don't have to talk about any of the above.  If you feel like bragging about the number of black eye peas you consume today, get after it.  Or any other thing that comes to mind.

Here is wishing for everyone the Greatest Year Ever!

Hair of the dog that bit me

It’s about time. MLB TV starts today at 6PM! I’m so psyched! I always kind of liked Harold Renolds.

I found it, on Comcast, all the down on channel 741.

Also, for Christmas I got Spring Training tickets to Marlins vs Dominican Rep., Red Sox, Mets, St. Louis, Nats & Jays. Kick Ass!

Happy New Year!

People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring. ~ Rogers Hornsby

ouch from espn

• IN THE STARS DEPT.: While we’re on the subject, poor Dan Uggla committed more errors on back-to-back pitches in the All Star Game (two) than he’d committed in the previous 2½ months (one). Then again, it was that kind of night. Uggla crammed three errors, three strikeouts and a double-play groundout into FIVE INNINGS of the All Star Game — a combination unmatched by any player in history in any regular-season, postseason or All-Star Game ever played.

Luckily, we've now got Bonifacio.

Bonifacio would never commit three errors with three strikeouts in an All-Star Game. Because he’ll never make an All-Star Game.
