According to the Weather Channel if this game takes place it will be next to a miracle. And speaking of miracles, the Marlins need to start a long win streak and do it now.

Volstad is Volstad. He walks too many, gives up too many hits, especially early in the game, but has the mastery to work around it. The kid is going to be something some day. But in the meantime, he has to rely on the defense to help out and they have been more than willing to recently.

Kendrick has fallen on tough times recently. In his last five starts he went 1-3 with a 9.14 ERA, so that means tonight he will do his Cy Young impersonation. Giving up home runs is nothing new to Kendrick, in fact he has given up 20 of them this season. The weird thing is he is better at home than on the road. His home ERA is 3.69 as opposed to his road ERA of 6.29. Go figure.

Circuit Court Judge Jeri Beth Cohen ruled Tuesday that there are no grounds to overturn the judgment of the Miami-Dade County Commission that the stadium is a public purpose.

Cohen says the law is clear. She says the same determination was made 21 years ago when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers negotiated a new stadium with Hillsborough County.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that was the biggest hurdle. Cohen still has to decide if the money legally can be spent on the stadium, but I think that’s a lot more deferential standard.
